It may not be possible for you to live without some of the things which you have enjoyed for long. This is exactly true with the Volkswagen Golf. There is a long history behind the present model of Volkswagen Golf Mk6.

VW Golf was not a very exciting car in the beginning. It had a box like bulky shape and was more expensive than its competitors. However, there are people still who have loved it for many years. What is the secret behind their affection for this car?

It was nearly 35 years back when the first Volkswagen Golf was introduced. Since then it has been very popular. It has been a great pleasure for decades for its many lovers who have watched it to develop to a sleek, round and aesthetically pleasant shape what we glance today. VW Golf is having elegance and style in it. Although it is a German make, but it is more like British.

The latest Volkswagen Golf Mk6 is styled based on the model PQ35 from earlier model Golf Mk5. Volkswagen Golf Mk6 was conceived by its head designer Walter de' Silva, who got inspired by the earlier models of VW Golf, particularly Mk1 and Mk4. The latest model Volkswagen Golf Mk6 is more fuel efficient, aerodynamic and quieter in operation than earlier models. The interior quality has been revamped to match that of VW Golf Mk4 and the user-friendliness of Mk5 has been retained.

Volkswagen has selected the really very good Mk V GTI and fine-tuned it in many crucial respects. Volkswagen Golf Mk6 is available in four versions of petrol engines and three types of diesel engines. The engine is lighter and more powerful and economical. You may choose a twin petrol engine 1.4 litres developing 160 hp, which is exceptional for a vehicle of this size. It has a supercharged and turbo charged powerful engine. Driving the new car is an exciting experience which you could not find in the old version.

After the GT1 model, this is the next model giving so much excitement in driving. VW Golf was always considered a safe, snug, environment friendly and reasonably priced car, but it was never praised for its exciting driving. Suddenly it is giving a feeling of being less British. The consume note is furthermore astonishing and certainly unprecedented in a 2.0-litre German hatchback.

The company has announced to launch Volkswagen Golf Twin Drive Hybrid, plug- in- type vehicle based on its model Mk5, which utilizes 2.0L, 122hp turbo diesel engine and an electrical motor with lithium-ion batteries. They are envisaging to come out with a trial batch of 20 VW Golfs outfitted with this system in 2010. Its production version will be based on Volkswagen Golf Mk6 with a 1.5L turbo-diesel engine coupled with an electric motor expected to be brought in 2015.

A Street-legal go-cart is the most appropriate description that the 2009 Lotus Elise fits into. Fitting into, however, can be a two-fold problem. Sure, the 2009 Lotus Elise fits with plenty of breathing room into your garage. You can practically park it in a closet, but will you fit into the 2009 Lotus Elise? This car is TIGHT. Anyone over six feet tall will take the 2009 Lotus Elise with its roof in place as a serious challenge, but once situated in the cockpit, there is a real feeling of connectivity to the car. It's almost like wearing a suit. It's a bit uncomfortable at first, but once you begin to settle in a little, it just fits like a glove. The 2009 Lotus Elise comes in two trim packages, the Elise S version which is powered by a 189-horsepower four cylinder engine, and there is the SC version, which adds a supercharger and creates 218 horsepower, significant numbers for a car this small. The 2009 Lotus Elise is also the least expensive Lotus for 2009, offering plenty of zip for under $50K, considerably less than the Evora or Exige's price tags in excess of $70K.

Under the hood of the 2009 Lotus Elise is a choice of two engines, or rather one engine with or without a supercharger. The 2009 Lotus Elise has a base engine configuration of 1.8L in a dual overhead camshaft, inline-four cylinder layout creating 189 horsepower. The same engine in the 2009 Lotus Elise SC is supercharged with 218 horses, and sprints to sixty miles per hour in a stated 4.4 seconds. Fuel economy with both of the Lotus Elise engines is passable, with the unsupercharged engine returning 21city/27 highway per gallon, while the supercharged engine is not appreciably thirstier, returning 20city/26 highway fuel economy. While it's not too bad, one would almost expect a car of this size to return fuel economy numbers in the range of 26/32 or better, particularly given that the 2009 Lotus Elise is shifted by a 6-speed manual transmission, and no automatic option.

Packaged as is, the 2009 Lotus Elise will set you back $47,250 without the supercharged SC package. For the upper level model, the 2009 Lotus Elise SC carries a price tag of $54,990. Is the extra money worth it? It depends on your level of enthusiasm. You don't need it really, but if you've just gotta have it, than you'll find a way to afford it. The 2009 Lotus Elise is available in a wide variety of colors under three different types. Metallic paint will add $590 to the base price, while Lifestyle paint adds $1200. Limited paint adds $3,300 to the base price, and includes Candy red, Ice white, and Burnt Orange. The 2009 Lotus Elise Metallic colors include silver, red, blue, black, yellow, and titanium, and the Lifestyle paint includes such shades as White, orange, gray, green, blue, and black. All in all, the 2009 Lotus Elise is a slick, small car with just enough attitude to keep it interesting, but be careful your sixteen-year-old daughter doesn't fall in love with it. Get her an old Miata, and whatever you do, keep the 2009 Lotus Elise for yourself!

    The 2011 Chevrolet Volt

On November 8, 1989 Infiniti first opened up for business. Since its inception, Infiniti's goal has been to establish a new concept of automotive luxury and today the brand is sold in 35 countries around the world.

Back in 1989, Infiniti had just two models and 51 retailers. Much has changed since then. Showrooms have expanded to make room for full range of luxury performance vehicles, including coupes, convertibles, sedans and SUVs. While Infiniti sales officially started in 1989 in the U.S., plans for Infiniti actually took root in 1985 with the creation of the top secret Horizon Task Force–a group formed within Nissan with a view toward creating a new performance luxury brand.

The Horizon Task Force singled out for closer study a handful of leading service companies outside of the automotive field, including Federal Express, Four Seasons Hotels and Nordstrom department stores. Ultimately, the Task Force's findings had a direct influence on everything from the design of the first Infiniti showrooms to the brand identity process all the way down to details such as the design of business cards and parts and accessories packaging.

From a product perspective, Infiniti launched in the U.S. with two models: the Q45 luxury sedan and the driver-oriented M30 coupe. Looking ahead, the ever-expanding product line will be joined by a second-generation Infiniti M sedan in spring 2010, followed by an all-new Infiniti QX SUV in summer 2010. Farther out, Infiniti recently announced its first-ever hybrid–the 2012 Infiniti M Hybrid and a future electric vehicle.

Plug-in hybrids have a host of drawbacks, most having to do with the limits of the battery packs on which they run. While the technology is catching up (and quickly,) it has unfortunately lagged over the last nine or so decades since electric cars were common. While its true that the technology of the 2011 Chevrolet Volt is nothing if not awe-inspiring, its roots begin waaaaayyyy back in the 1800s, when electric cars were more common than gasoline cars. Not true, you say? 'Fraid so, kiddies. Difference was, back then, most folks didn't have access to electricity, particularly outside city limits. As the population expanded, gasoline automobiles took over because they didn't need access to a power source except for a crank to create a spark. For 2011, however, the technology has come full-circle, creating a vehicle so far advanced above its gasoline counterparts, that the moment you see one humming down the road, take a moment to consider the “horse-and-cart” you've been driving around in all these years.

The 2011 Chevrolet Volt is the next interpretation of the hybrid vehicle, one more step up the ladder. The 2011 Chevrolet Volt incorporates as much fuel-and energy-saving technologies as are commercially available today, including low-rolling resistance tires, regenerative braking, and even a special Bose-engineered sound system that reduces the amount of power needed to operate the stereo. The 2011 Chevrolet Volt is powered by a turbocharged 1.4L Dual overhead camshaft inline-four cylinder engine that itself is highly efficient and drives a generator to produce electric power for extended travel. The electric motor of the 2011 Chevrolet Volt produces a pleasing 160 horsepower, enough for highway travel in the 2011 Chevrolet Volt without the worry of a 40-mile range limit thanks to the gasoline engine and generator. The best fuel-saving feature of the 2011 Chevrolet Volt is the ability of the car to cruise on electric power, enabling the 2011 Chevrolet Volt to potentially realize fuel economy in the range of 230 miles per gallon, a magic number that engineers working on the 2011 Chevrolet Volt have set themselves to accomplish not just with the preproduction vehicles, but with off-the line 2011 Chevrolet Volt consumer-ready cars, as well.

Inside, the 2011 Chevrolet Volt has yet to see finalized interior treatment, but expect it to be roughly on par with the Chevrolet Malibu in terms of surface treatments and textures. With an expected price tag of $40,000, the 2011 Chevrolet Volt is going to have to justify its price tag beyond fuel economy numbers with an interior that's considerably better appointed than your standard run-of-the-mill fuel sipping commuter. The 2011 Chevrolet Volt is expected to begin production in December 2010, but due to all the ups and downs with the “new GM” right now, production could move back or forward literally without any notice at all. Expect to see a lot of the 2011 Chevrolet Volt, however, during the upcoming car show season, and a lot of excitement to follow it around.
